Overview
SaudiCatch ("we," "us," or "our") is a press release distribution platform operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information from two types of users:
- Brand accounts — companies that submit press releases for publication on saudicatch.com
- Readers — individuals who visit the site, subscribe to our newsletter, or engage with published content
By using SaudiCatch, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. We aim to be plain about what we do — no dark patterns, no hidden tracking, no selling your data.
Information we collect
From readers
When you visit saudicatch.com, we collect the minimum information needed to operate the site:
- Browser and device information — user agent, screen size, language preference (used to render the site correctly)
- IP address — used for security purposes, abuse prevention, and approximate geographic analytics (city/country level only)
- Pages visited and time on site — anonymous analytics about which releases are popular
- Newsletter email — only if you voluntarily subscribe to The Daily Catch
From brand accounts
When you create a brand account to submit press releases, we collect:
- Brand or company name
- Contact person's name and email address
- Phone number (optional, for sales follow-up)
- Brand category (F&B, retail, fashion, etc.)
- Press release content you submit (text, images, brand assets)
- Payment information when you purchase a publishing package (processed by our payment provider — we don't store full card numbers)
How we use information
We use the information we collect for these specific purposes:
- Operating the platform — publishing your releases, sending you a confirmation when content goes live, billing for packages
- Editorial workflow — our editorial team reviews submitted content and may contact you to clarify factual details before publication
- Newsletter delivery — sending The Daily Catch to subscribers who opt in
- Site improvement — anonymous analytics help us understand which releases get traction and how to design the site better
- Communication — responding to inquiries you send us at hello@saudicatch.com
- Legal compliance — meeting our obligations under Saudi law and resolving disputes
We do not use your data to:
- Sell or rent it to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties
- Train AI models
- Profile you for retargeting outside SaudiCatch
- Send you marketing about products unrelated to SaudiCatch
Sharing & disclosure
We share information only in limited, specific cases:
- Service providers we rely on to run the platform — hosting (e.g. server providers), email delivery (e.g. transactional email service), payment processing, analytics. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only as needed to deliver services to us.
- Published press releases — when you submit a press release for publication, the content (including your brand name and any included contact information) is published publicly on saudicatch.com and may be syndicated to our social channels and newsletter. This is the entire point of the platform.
- Legal requirements — if compelled by Saudi authorities, valid legal process, or to protect against fraud or harm
- Business transfers — if SaudiCatch is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer to the acquirer (we'll notify you and honor existing privacy commitments)
Cookies & tracking
SaudiCatch uses cookies and similar technologies for these purposes:
- Essential cookies — keep you signed in, remember your language preference (Arabic/English), prevent abuse
- Analytics cookies — anonymous data about how visitors use the site, helping us improve it
- Preference cookies — remember your dark/light theme setting and other display options
We do not use third-party advertising trackers or social media pixels that follow you across the web. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features (like staying signed in or remembering your language) won't work without them.
Brand account data
If you operate a brand account, additional terms apply to data you submit:
- Press release content you submit becomes published material. Once published, releases are public, indexed by search engines, and may be cited or referenced by third parties.
- Editorial cleanup. Our editorial team may make minor edits for clarity, format, and language consistency. Material changes are confirmed with you first.
- Account deletion does not unpublish releases. If you close your brand account, releases you previously published remain on the site (this preserves the integrity of the public archive). To request removal of a specific release, contact us — we'll evaluate the request based on legal merit and editorial principle.
Data retention
We keep different types of data for different lengths of time:
- Brand account data — kept while your account is active and for 7 years after account closure (Saudi commercial record-keeping requirements)
- Newsletter subscriber data — kept until you unsubscribe; we may keep a record of your unsubscription to honor it
- Anonymous analytics — kept for up to 26 months
- Published press releases — kept indefinitely as part of the public archive (the permanence is the value)
- Server logs and security data — kept for up to 12 months for security purposes
Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have these rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
- Withdrawal of consent — opt out of newsletter and marketing communications at any time
- Complaint — file a complaint with the relevant Saudi authority (Saudi Data & AI Authority)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@saudicatch.com. We respond within 30 days.
Security
We protect your data using industry-standard practices:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest
- Access controls and regular audits of who can see what
- Payment information processed by PCI-compliant providers — we don't store full card numbers
- Regular security updates to our software
That said, no system is perfectly secure. If we discover a data breach affecting your information, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities within the legally required timeframe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we'll:
- Update the "last updated" date at the top of this page
- Send a notice to brand accounts via email
- Display a banner on the site for at least 14 days
Continued use of SaudiCatch after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
